Magic and tons of audience participation is the key to maintaining the focus of our message to 100's of students.
Let me be very clear... The content is the #1 priority; the fun is so they absorb the information.

Being a children’s entertainer for over 18 years David has the ability to keep hundreds if not thousands of students in the palm of his hands. You're students will receive quality new material that will show them the power each students has as a bystander to reduce bullying in their school. It happens every day in schools, malls, on the Internet and cell phones across Canada. Bullying. One in five Canadian youth report being bullied regularly. But did you know when a friend steps in, bullying stops half the time in 10 seconds or less. M.A.G.I.C. makes it simple. When you see bullying, don’t just stand by, stand up. The M.A.G.I.C. Anti Bully Program teaches some ways that you can be the one to help stop bullying.

The M.A.G.I.C. program teaches that we need to take the focus off the bully and put all our attention on the power of the bystanders. Magic is used throughout this school assembly to bring our points across. Magic is never used just as a trick just to fill in time. When the assembly is over your students will clearly understand how to stop bullying in your school.
This program has been developed after considerable research and consultation with a good number of British Columbia educators (in particular student assistance specialists.)

  • Astounding Magic
  • Storytelling
  • Role Playing
  • Complete Audience Involvement And Participation
  • And More…

Here’s How M.A.G.I.C. Is Going To Benefit You And Your Students

This fast-paced, highly entertaining and educational assembly program uses magic, humor, storytelling and audience participation to engage the students’ imaginations and teach them life affirming messages.
M.A.G.I.C. teaches students character traits that will not only make them better people, but will create an environment in your school where there will be no room for bullies.

The Major Themes Of This Assembly Are:

  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Caring

RESPECT:

We talk about how we need to respect each other, and how we have to learn to respect ourselves as well. We emphasize that respect comes from not judging a person by what they look or act like on the outside, but by taking the time to learn what's on the inside.
RESPONSIBILITY:
The theme of responsibility is dealt with by teaching the students that the first step to being a responsible person is to learn to make the right choices and follow the rules.
CARING:
Finally we talk about how to be a caring person: by both doing and saying things to help others. And of course, the program also deals with the important issue of how to manage those bullies who just won't go away.
Through COMEDY, MAGIC, and a bit of MAYHEM, your students will learn…

  • The difference between friendly Teasing and not-so-friendly Taunting
  • When’s a good time to “Tell” and when it’s simply “Tattling”
  • How to be a good “Witness” (not just a bystander)
  • When and how to use assertive words to repel the bully
  • How to keep their own self respect, even when things go badly, and…
  • New skills to deal with their next bully encounter
  • The confidence and assurance that they are not alone
  • Motivation to help create a bully-free school as a team
  • How we can all work together to prevent this problem!

The challenge when creating this program was to teach this critical topic in a light, upbeat, and non-threatening manner without sacrificing any of the important messages that kids NEED TO HEAR. "M.A.G.I.C.” is able to grab and maintain the attention of any group of K – 7 th graders for an entire block of 45-minutes and then some. They won’t even know they’re learning until it’s too late. M.A.G.I.C. is not only a great attention-getter, but it is also a great visual aid. Magical props and effects are sprinkled throughout the program to illustrate the points and clarify the messages. Isn’t that a great way to learn?
